Our Charta
Independent Medical Support e.V. is a registered non-profit association. We support individual healthcare projects by building a network of like-minded doctors, therapists and social scientists. These projects include funding for training and arranging internships abroad, expedition medicine and medical emergency aid abroad. In cooperation with other NGOs (Non-Governmental Organizations) we aim to support both individual patients and doctors around the world.
Would you like to work abroad as a doctor, but your employer does not grant you leave for several months?
Are you interested in an internship abroad, but the bureaucratic hurdles and the inaccessibility of many institutions are an obstacle?
Would you like to be active on your next holiday, but is it taking too long to register and get permission to practice medicine abroad?
Are you a patient and would you like a contact person for personal problems or see a lack of care in your country?
Our mission is to ensure more complex goals and a more extensive lineup in different countries around the world with each member. Experienced members provide recommendations, contacts, experiences, maybe even accommodation. Independent Medical Support e.V. even provides financial support for excess funds upon request.
With us, donations can be made directly and transparently to individual projects. There are no dues to the association. Every active member has the right to present their projects on our website if it corresponds to our association's purpose. Active members are met personally by our board, their information and skills are checked and their admission is decided mutualy.
Our Philosophy
Independent Medical Support e.V. is a non-profit and charitable association. Our goal is to promote and offer medical care internationally and to help individual people with their problems, questions and projects. We want to support, encourage and challenge each other. Anyone who wants to pursue the goals of our association can become a member and enrich our network. We select our active members according to individual criteria.
Our History
Independent Medical Support e.V. was founded in February 2013 by Maximilian Richter, Leopold Lecheler and other medical students and friends in Halle (Saale), Germany.
The idea of the association was to organize idealists together and to carry out international projects together.
With the membership of Dr. med. Franz Härtel and Dr. med. Nadya Guellil in 2014, the association's ideas were fleshed out and expanded.
The new version of the statutes in 2016 created the basis of our association, whose philosophy we represent today and whose ideas and projects grow with every new member of our network.
